"Singer Alicia Keys referenced President Trump’s impeachment and called for rapper Cardi B to enter politics at Sunday night’s Grammy Awards.
The "Fallin’" singer and Grammy host belted out a song at the 62nd annual music ceremony on Sunday in Los Angeles, saying, "Tonight we must unite in spite of all the news that we’re seeing.”
After name-checking singers Billie Eilish and Ariana Grande, among others, Keys then touched on politics, singing: "Commander in chief impeached/Ya’ll get out/Let’s bring Cardi B."
"Cardi, can you please show these people what to do?" Keys asked.
Cardi B, an outspoken Trump critic, has flirted with a political bid before. The "Bodak Yellow" rapper, who was born Belcalis Almánzar, tweeted earlier this month: "I do feel like if I go back to school and focus up I can be part of Congress.I deadass have sooo much ideas that make sense.I just need a couple of years of school and I can shake the table."
In her Grammys tune on Sunday, Keys sang to loud applause from the audience: "It’s just too many lies/Too much hate, too much spin/It’s when good people do nothing, that the bad guys win.”"
