Race to Lead Germany’s Largest Party Is Heating Up

Oct.07 — Norbert Roettgen, head of the Bundestag’s foreign affairs committee, discusses his bid to replace Chancellor Angela Merkel as head of Germany’s largest party, the Christian Democratic Union. He spoke Oct. 6 with Bloomberg’s Arne Delfs in Berlin. The CDU’s 1,000 delegates are due to meet in Stuttgart on Dec. 4, to select the new leader at a one-day convention.
