H.K. Vows to Keep Up Security Push on Tense Anniversaries

Jul.01 — Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam is pledging to press ahead with the national security crackdown as the city marked the dual anniversaries of the 1997 handover as well as the Chinese Communist Party’s centennial celebration. A fairly quiet day turned violent on Thursday as one police officer was stabbed in the back before the assailant turned the knife on himself.
